Big Kids!

The biggest news is that the Hickey home is officially diaper free!!!! Woo Hoo! We did the 3 day potty training method with some modification, we never pushed for night time training because the woman who wrote the manual clearly never trained quadruplets or she never would have said to throw away every single diaper out of fear of washing four sets of sheets every single day! Matthew trained immediately, Aubrey was ready to be diaper free several months ago. Brady and Cameron decided they were ready to go to bed in undies so after a couple days of waking dry I figured they could try it out. They did great last night and hopefully it will continue because this family is done with diapers forever!

The kids had their recertification at WIC today and were full of energy as usual! It takes forever to get through an appointment there and they get a little restless. Of course there is a ramp up to the bathroom and they have to pee a million times every time we are there so they can run up and down the ramp. I don't know how they can make themselves pee so often but they go every single time! While we were there they had to get weighed, measured and get a finger prick to check their iron level. In the past Matthew has had low iron but he finally is up there in the normal range with the other three. Their weights and heights were great as well, three shorties (like their parents) and one big guy:

Matthew
28 lbs - 57th percentile
35" - 20th percentile
BMI 16.1 - 44th percentile

Brady
34.5 lbs - 97th percentile
37" - 95th percentile
BMI 17.7 - 86th percentile

Aubrey
24.5 lbs - 8th percentile
34 1/8" - 13th percentile
BMI 14.8 - 15th percentile

Cameron
30 lbs - 76th percentile
35" - 20th percentile
BMI 17.2 -77th percentile

Doing chores

One of the favorite parts of the vacation at Grammies was doing chores with Daddy. They would all get ready for bed then load up in the Jeep for a ride down to the pond to feed the fish, then stop at the chickens and finally on to the horse and donkey. Fun Week!

We spent 9 nights at Grammie Donuts and Papa Digger's house sitting, feeding animals, playing outside and just having a fun week! Ben kept the kids there with him most days and I was able to arrange for a day and a half off too so when it was time to come home they were not happy about it! The first naptime at home they all cried and said they wanted to go nap at Grammies! One of the days we were there their big pal Noah came to hang out with us for the day. The kids just love him and look up to him so much so they were happy to have him come over so they could show them all the cool stuff at Grammies house! The gang! Photobucket Playing baseball! Four wheeling!

For the kids first birthday we had bought them each a mini four wheeler. Last summer they really didn't get the hang of it now this summer they are driving them all over the place but starting to out grow them. They all fight over the big 12v one that they have to share so we will be scouring yard sales for at least another one!

Mouthy boys!

Today I was driving and I heard all the boys in the back row laughing so I glanced in the rear veiw mirror to see what was so funny know it was probably something they shouldn't be doing. There was Matthew blowing blubbles onto the window. I said "Matthew, bubbles are for outside only. Close your bubbles and put them in your cupholder." To which he responded "You not supposed to be looking at me Mommy, you need to watch the road!"

Later we were out feeding the chickens when I repeatedly told Cameron to come take his turn and he was listening horribly like usual lately. Finally I said "Fine Cameron, you are going to be the one who is sad when you don't get a turn" He turned to me and said "MOM! Reeeellllllaaaaaaxxxxxxxxx!" complete with the relaxing hand movements.

How can you not laugh at them when they say stuff like this? :)

Imaginations!

They are something else lately...so full of energy and laughter and stories. Oh the things they come out with when they use their imaginations!

Whoa! What's that noise?

Playground fun!

We brought the kids to the playground in Lunenburg and I was surprised how nice the playground is for such a small town. It is amazing how much they have grown since last year and how much they are able to do on their own. Ben and I were even able to sit back for a few minutes and watch them...something that was unheard of last summer. The kids had a blast and I am sure Grammie is going to thank us later for showing them that there is an awesome playground so close to her house! ;)

My favorite foursome on the big kid swings!

We've been FLOCKED!

Nine years ago this summer there was so much uncertainty, would Ben make it through his treatments?  Would I be able to carry all four babi...
