Going a little stir crazy!
When it rains it pours! We had discovered that the porch was not installed properly when it was put on and it caused the entire sill of the house to rot out, leaving spaces where you could see from the cellar right outside so we knew that our spring projects would include ripping the porch off and replacing the sill. We had been trying to decide whether we would rebuild the deck or just have more yard space. THEN the septic system began to fail and we learned we would have to replace the leach feild and install a new tank. Grrr...not exactly what we wanted to hear but as with all heavy rains there is a rainbow!
Since the equipment was already here Ben and Papa Digger decided to make the lawn bigger and flat for the kids to have a place to play. When they said bigger I was thinking a little bigger...obviously their ideas and mine were different but I love all the yard we are going to have! Next step is coming up with the money to put in a new swing set!
With all the demolition and work being done the kids haven't been able to have as much outside time as they are used to so they are going a little stir crazy being cooped up but we are finally able to go and play in a small area for now. We were trying to get them to help us pick up all the rocks so we can plant the grass and it was fun for awhile but it grew old quickly and I think there are child labor laws that make it so we can't force them to work...darn it!
Before!
Working hard!
Almost done!
