A Sand Digger!

Every time we go to a park with a sand digger they fight over the thing and monopolize it the entire time we are there.  About a month ago we went to one of their friends birthday parties and he had one in his sand box!  I had looked around a little online for one knowing we would be putting in a sand box this summer and couldn't really see spending $100-$200 on one right now so I didn't think any more about it until at this party the birthday boy's mom told us she found it online at a company called Kotula's for $30 and free shipping.  I couldn't wait to get home and look it up!  Sure enough they had it and it was just the price she said so I ordered one for our sandbox and it came in tonight.  They were thrilled to have their own digger and were talking out having big ones when they get bigger!

Clark's Trading Post

After earning enough naptime/bedtime smiles last week to allow them to go to Clark's Trading Post the kids were very excited to set off on our adventure this morning.  Uncle Tom and Auntie Kate wanted to join us so each kiddo got a little one on one attention.  I have to say that the kids enjoyed the bear show, playing in the water boats and the little playground there but I think that the cost of $19 is a rip off...thank goodness kids ages 1 and 2 are free!  The train ride was good until the Wolfman came out and then Brady buried his head in my arm pit and didn't remove it for the next 15 minutes. The other three weren't too thrilled by him either but they weren't as scared as Brady was.  There really isn't much else there and we were there less than 4 hours.  Not some place we will put on our yearly park rotation.

A Sandbox!!!!

The quads favorite part about going to the Guildhall School to play is their sandbox.  Now that we have a nice big yard they have been waiting for Ben to have some free time to build them a sandbox.  The boys were so excited when we returned home from grocery shopping to see Daddy starting to put one together.  Cameron had to run inside to get his drill to help him out!

Thankfully Lee and Tracie stopped down to give a hand hauling all the dirt up to the back yard.  Cameron and Brady were the big helpers loading their dump trucks full and pushing all the way to the sandbox while Matthew and Aubrey waited patiently playing with the water table.  I can see many hours of enjoyment coming out of this project!

Blueberry Picking

I never knew there was blueberry picking just down the road from us so when Auntie Allison called to invite us to go I was excited to bring the quads to pick one of their favorite fruits!  I dug out little metal pails they had gotten at Easter time so they each could carry their own and pick as many as they wanted.  Matthew had a hard time picking at first so I helped him out and soon his pail was half full.  I turned my attention to Cameron who wanted more blueberries in his bucket then checked on the others before going back to find Matthew with an EMPTY bucket!

I asked him where he put all the blueberries and he shrugged his shoulders and said "In my mouth...now they're in my belly!"  So we went back to filling his bucket up.  Brady and Aubrey were more than happy to do it all on their own.  Before long we had 4 full buckets and headed up to the porch to have them weighed and to pay for them.  We learned kids pick free so I made a donation to help with what they picked and what they ate before heading home.

They were so happy to show Daddy all of their blueberries and Aubrey was excited to help me make a coffee cake with some of them this morning.  Looks like we won't be needing to get any from the grocery store this week!

Waiting to go pick!
