"I'm afraid!"

The quads have learned the saying "I'm afraid!"  I never allowed there to be a night light on in their room because I didn't want to create the habit of needing one and we never made it so they were afraid of their room until one day a friend of theirs decided to tell them that she doesn't like to sleep in her room because she is afraid something will get her.  That started the being afraid trend.  I brought out the Eucasol spray...great for this time of year anyway...and sprayed my "magic spray that will keep you safe" everywhere in their room.  That worked great until...

The same friend decided to ask them if they had a night light and they had no clue what it was.  She told them that she needs two on in her room to keep it from being scary.  That night Aubrey was hysterical needing a light on.  I appeased her by bringing out the princess crown Scentsy holder that I had stashed aside for her.  It doesn't let off a lot of light but enough to keep her happy.

I was really hoping to avoid this stage all together.  In fact, I figured since we made it to four we were in the clear...they never cease to amaze me!

Halloween Costume Contest

The kids were so excited to go to the Halloween costume contest and I was so bummed to have to miss it because I mistakenly scheduled myself to be at a Vendor Fair all day all the way in Sutton, VT.  Ben did a great job painting faces and getting them set to go and Auntie Kate came down and did Aubrey's hair for her because Aubrey was certain that Daddy couldn't handle it!

Cameron the Cowardly Lion!

Our Scarecrow Brady!

Matthew as the Tin Man!

Last but not least, Aubrey made a perfect Dorothy!

It doesn't get any cuter than this!

Waiting to be judged in the contest!

Winners!!!!

Pumpkin carving 2013

We went and picked pumpkins at Grammie and Papa's pumpkin patch and they had a blast!  They each got to pick 2 pumpkins each to carve.  Matthew was not too thrilled to get his hands in the goo and wouldn't use anything but the scrapers to clean them out.  He was more than happy to have a little assistance.  Surprisingly, Cameron did ok with getting his hands dirty and Brady was concerned about getting every seed out!  Aubrey proved that pumpkins can be fit for a princess!  Their unique personalities shined through in their choices.  I loved how Cameron decided on odd shapes for his faces and how Aubrey made a crown and Brady a sword.  Matthew held steady on insisting that pumpkins were cut a certain way and that was that!

Circus Time!

A little known fact is that if you send your baby's birth certificate in to the Barnum and Bailey's Circus prior to your child turning 6 months you will get a free ticket to the circus of your choice with no expiration date!  Luckily, we had a great friend that sent in our children's and we got to enjoy the circus with just the cost of 2 adult tickets!

We kept the secret until circus day about where we were going.  We headed out early in the morning and began giving clues about 45 minutes into the drive...there's lions there...there are acrobats...there are clowns...but it wasn't until I started spelling it and Brady sounded out the letters when they discoverd it was the CIRCUS!!!  This was the first circus for Ben and the kids and I am not sure who enjoyed it more.  The show was well over 2.5 hours and the 5 of them sat mesmerized the entire time!

We arrived early enough to go down on the floor for the floor show.

Next came show time!

They were in awe!

Crazy clowns!

Dragons!

Dancers!

WOW!!

Motorcycle on the tightrope with 2 acrobats!

Cameron's favorite!  The lions and tigers!

The kids couldn't believe the man jumped through the fire!

Aubrey was sure an acrobat was going to fall!

Brady loved the doggies...he patiently waited until act two for them!
